Governor Ducey gave an update on the COVID-19 pandemic Thursday afternoon. He told the media things look better today than they did ten days ago, but there’s a long way to go. Ducey announced a new executive order that would limit dine-in service at restaurants to “less than 50-percent capacity.” He also says there will be increased testing in the state. Ducey says the goal is to get to 35-thousand tests a day by the end of July and 60-thousand tests a day by the end of August. The state is partnering with the CDC, FEMA and Sonora Quest Labs in an operation called “Project Catapult.” Ducey says he won’t make decisions to appease the media or make decisions based on politics, and will make the best decisions for the health of Arizonans. He repeated his plea to Arizonans to stay home and washing your hands, and if you need to go out, make sure to social distance and wear a mask while in public.
