Flagstaff Police are looking for a person of interest in the burglary and vandalism of the Chabad of Flagstaff Synagogue recently. Officials say sometime between last Friday and Monday, the construction of the synagogue’s community center on 930 West University Avenue was burglarized and damaged. The damage caused appears to include hate symbols painted on the windows and marked on the walls. Additionally several paint cans were smashed and dumped on the floors. Black paint from the floor was then smeared on the windows in a swastika-like pattern. Fingerprints and biological evidence swabs were collected during the investigation. The person of interest is a white male wearing a beanie hat and a headlamp, dark jacket and tan pants. If anyone has information into the crime, or has information about the person in question, contact Flagstaff Police at (928) 679-4098 or Silent Witness at (928) 774-6111. The Anti-Defamation League is offering a two-thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the crimes.
