Fort Tuthill County Park will close to the general public from Friday until Monday to ease traffic congestion for those with COVID-19 vaccine appointments. County officials say the decision was made to make sure those getting the COVID-19 vaccine won’t have an issue with traffic getting into Fort Tuthill. Those who will use the park to receive their vaccines will be required to enter at Purple Sage Trail, and exit at the park’s main entrance. In addition to vaccine patients, those who hold valid Flagstaff Snow Park/Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course tickets, or with official business at the Luke Air Force Base facility, will still be granted access. The county is advising that future closures of Fort Tuthill are possible to ensure the vaccine site operates effectively. More information about COVID-19 vaccine distribution is available at the county website at coconino.az.gov/covid19vaccine.
