Yavapai County authorities are looking a suspect in connection with an incident where shots were fired into a law enforcement officer’s home in Prescott Valley. Deputies were called to the home in the 83-hundred block of East Loos Drive at 2:25 a.m. Thursday, after a person fired multiple rounds into the home, with one of the rounds passing right over the head of a sleeping four-year-old, nearly striking the child. The home belongs to a Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputy and his family. Fortunately no one was injured. Sheriff Scott Mascher says “this was not just an attack on law enforcement and one of our deputies, but a cowardly act against his young family.” The Prescott Valley Police Department asks if anyone noticed any suspicious activity in the area of the Mountain View skate park between midnight and 3 a.m. to contact them at (928) 772-5108. Yavapai Silent Witness is offering a $6,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest of the shooter. If anyone has information into the incident, call Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232.
