Current interim city manager Barbara Goodrich is expected to be named city manager tonight at a special session at City Hall. The council is expected to approve an agreement on a one-year contract with Goodrich to take over the position without the interim tag. She has served as the interim city manager since February of this year after former city manager Josh Copley resigned. Following the approval, Council will conduct a work session in which they will go over the Climate Action and Adapation Plan and discuss the McMillan Mesa Natural Area Major Plan Amendment Proposal. The plan comes from Proposition 413 that was passed in 2016, to restrict use of around 300 acres of city-owned parcels on McMillan Mesa to public open space and passive recreation. A future Veterans Home is exempt from the protection. Tonight’s meeting starts at 6 p.m.
