Repairs to a four-mile stretch of Townsend-Winona Road will get underway this week. The county secured the $1.4-million emergency maintenance contract for the project and it was approved by the Coconino County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday. The project includes milling and installing of asphalt on the travel lanes and shoulders of the road between Highway 89 and just east of Rio Rancho Road. The stretch of road was severely impacted by freeze and thaw cycles and created numerous potholes along the roadway. Repairs will be conducted between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with additional weekend work possible for about three weeks. Drivers in the area can expect delays during work times.
