A staff member at Winslow Junior High School has been fired for a violation of school district policies amid an investigation. The Winslow Unified School District posted a letter to parents Wednesday saying an internal investigation has begun into a parental concern. Winslow Police say they looked into an alleged assault involving the staff member and a student at the school. As the investigation progressed, the person was terminated and additional staff members were placed on administrative leave. School district officials are not commenting any further on the investigation in order to protect students and staff members. Winslow Police has turned over the case to the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigation Division.
