Hackers recently broke into Community Health Systems’ computers and stole data on over four-and-a-half million patients, according to CNNMoney.com. CHS has 206 hospitals in 28 states across the country, including four in Arizona. Two of the hospitals are in Tucson, one in Bullhead City and Payson Regional Medical Center in Payson. Hackers reportedly had access to Social Security numbers, physical addresses, birthdays and telephone numbers. Anyone who went to a CHS hospital in the last five years, or was referred to one, is affected. The hospital network has removed the hackers software from their system and plans to offer those affected with identity theft protection.
