Arizona Sundogs Suspends Operations For Upcoming Season

There won’t be hockey at the Tim’s Toyota Center this season. The Arizona Sundogs announced this morning that they are suspending operations for the 2014-15 season. Team officials say the club does plan on restarting the team for the 2015-16 season. The team has played in Prescott Valley since its birth in 2006 and won the Ray Miron President’s Cup in 2008 as the champions of the CHL. The Sundogs finished last season losing to the Denver Cutthroats in Game Five of the conference semi-finals. Ironically, the Cutthroats suspended operations yesterday. The Sundogs were the CHL affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes.  The Coyotes co-owner, president and CEO Anthony LeBlanc released a statement saying “there are many passionate hockey fans in Prescott Valley and we all hope that hockey will return in 2015-16.”
